10 Things To Do With Dad This Father’s Day

When we think about Father’s Day, it’s rarely the gifts we remember. It’s the day trips, the fishing lessons, the backyard barbecues. The moments spent together that become stories we tell years later.

This Father’s Day, we’re keeping it simple. Instead of focusing on things to buy, we’re focusing on ways to spend time together. Sometimes the best summer memories are the ones that don’t require much planning at all.

1. Build a Backyard (or Living Room) Campout

Pitch a tent outside in the yard or build a blanket fort indoors. Add snacks, flashlights, card games, and a movie for an evening that feels like an outdoor adventure.

2. Roast Marshmallows Together

No fire pit? No problem. Roast marshmallows over the stove and make classic s’mores right in your kitchen.

3. Go Fishing

Whether it’s from a dock, a riverbank, or a boat, fishing has a way of slowing everyone down and creating space for conversation.

4. Have a Beach or Park Day

Pack a cooler, bring a towel, skip stones, build sandcastles, or simply spend the day by the water or in a park, together.

5. Let Dad Choose Dinner

Whether it’s burgers on the grill, fish tacos, or takeout from his favourite restaurant, let him choose the menu and enjoy an easy summer meal together.

6. Watch a Sunset

Bring a blanket, some snacks, and find a quiet place to watch the sun go down.

7. Have a Family Game Night

Board games, cards, or a backyard tournament. A little friendly competition never hurts.

8. Explore Somewhere New

Visit a nearby town, farmers market, hiking trail, or beach you’ve never explored before. Find an adventure by trying something new.

9. Recreate an Old Family Photo

Pull out an old favourite and recreate it today. The results are almost always worth a laugh.

10. Take a Photo Together

Not for social media. Just for you. One on one. The older we get, the more these photos matter. This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who show up in big ways and small ones.

Here’s to a summer filled with simple moments, good conversations, and memories worth keeping.

Happy Father’s Day.
